Utilizing uncooled microbolometer technology, The SpecterIR SP50B Thermal Weapon Sight is a completely passive infrared weapon sighting system which allow users to identify the heat signatures of individuals or objects; day or night and in rain, fog and smoke. As with previous models of SpecterIR Thermal Weapon Sights, no external light source is required, and the unit may be used in complete darkness or broad daylight. When viewed through the SpecterIR SP50B, heat-emitting objects such as humans and recently-operated vehicles stand out dramatically against their surroundings, defeating camouflage and other methods of visual concealment. The second generation of the now-famous SpecterIR line, the SP50B is enhanced with a greater operating temperature range, improved detector, "smart" reticle, and improved video output parameters.
